About STRIVE
STRIVE Baltimore is based on the STRIVE International model. STRIVE first came to Baltimore in 1998 under the auspices of Baltimore Healthy Start. In 1999, STRIVE Baltimore was taken on by Joseph Jones, President, CEO and Founder of the Center for Urban Families. STRIVE Baltimore assists individuals in gaining the tools needed to achive higher wages and create economic self sufficient families and communities. The STRIVE Baltimore program model includes:
Job Readiness Training
An intensive three-week course which focuses on attitudinal training, workplace ettiquette, poor attire and behavior, and developing and maintaining positive workplace behaviors and habits.
Job Development and Placement
STRIVE staff administers employment assessments to participants and then matches them with employer partners.
Career Case Management Services Job Retention and Advancement Graduate Engagement

Through extensive record keeping and partnerships with the Abell Foundation and the University of Baltimore's Jacob France Institute, STRIVE Baltimore has gathered a wealth of data on STRIVE graduate placement, graduate earnings, and participant demographics. This data has allowed STRIVE Baltimore to compare participant outcomes to similar workforce development programs around the country.
